We’re thrilled to announce the new Kahoot! integration with Microsoft Teams – bringing Kahoot! challenges directly inside Team for your students to learn and collaborate. Kahoot! is a game-based learning platform that makes it easy to create, share, and play learning games or trivia quizzes – creating a fun educational experience for students.
Educators using Kahoot! will have full access to their kahoots from within the new Kahoot Teams tab and can launch live games in meetings or assign self-paced challenges in channels without leaving Teams. As educators adapt to distance learning, this new integration provides an opportunity to remain engaged with their students and bring fun to learning while using Teams as their hub.
Get started with Kahoot! on Microsoft Teams
It’s simple to get your Kahoot! integration with Teams experience started. Follow the guidance below to walkthrough installation and the ways to launch your kahoots from Teams.
Access all your kahoots within the tab
You’ll have access to all your kahoots inside the newly discoverable ‘Kahoots tab’ in the team you attached the app to. From here you’ll be able to launch a live game in a Teams meeting or assign a challenge for students in the team channels.
Launch an interactive live game in your Teams meeting
Live games are engaging and social experiences encouraging friendly competition, which helps your virtual classrooms of all sizes connect. Simply start a Teams meeting and share your screen if you want to present remotely, then select the kahoot you’d like to launch from the Kahoot! tab and select ‘Present’!
Assign a self-paced challenge in your Teams channel for your students
Mix up the pace by assigning a challenge for your students to take at their own pace while still maintaining a friendly competitive environment. Start by selecting the kahoot you’d like to assign as a challenge from the Kahoot tab and click ‘Assign’ – you’ll receive a confirmation verifying you’ve launched your challenge in the channel. Reminders are sent to the group, and Teams creates a more social experience as the game unfolds, culminating in the final podium shared in the group when the game ends.
Results and Reporting
If you’d like to view data from the kahoot assignment, a report will be linked directly from the podium for the host to review – so that you can see how your students performed and see their level of engagement.
We’re excited to see how educators will use the new Kahoot! integration to better engage with their students in this period of distance learning. Start your experience today!
